In Season 2, Episode 2 of 'Outlander' Claire Fraser wears a strikingly beautiful 'Dior' Bar Suit style gown ensemble while out on the town in 18th century France while on her way to find the Apothecary Shoppe of Master Raymond in Paris.
She wears this two-piece dress on one of her first days out on the town while she and Jamie are living in France. Claire accessorizes her 'Dior' gown with a pair of light creamy ivory wrist-length gloves.
Ironically (or maybe very 'fittingly') the iconic Dior Bar Suit style was first presented by clothing designer Christian Dior in 1947 - Claire's own original time period. The outfit even included short wrist-length gloves.
The gloves Claire is wearing with her own 'Dior' dress feature a decorative cuff with a slight flare at the wrist for style and comfort of movement. These gloves would be equally at home in the 1940's as they are in the 1700's.
The rest of her costume includes a long sleeve ivory jacket topper, blue-grey satin skirt, yellow pear topaz teardrop earrings, drawstring pouch handbag, straw raffia hat, and black leather retro pump style shoes.
Below is a selection of ideas for Claire's ivory gloves in either genuine leather with decorative flared cuffs, or stretch satin. The stretch satin features options for full gloves or fingerless gauntlets.
