(See our post for Claire's satin jacket for this outfit HERE.)
In Season 2, Episode 2 of 'Outlander' Claire Fraser wears a strikingly beautiful 'Dior' Bar Suit style gown ensemble while in 18th century France.
She wears this two-piece dress on one of her first days out on the town while she and Jamie are living in Paris.
Ironically (or maybe very fittingly) the Dior Bar Suit style was first presented by clothing designer Christian Dior in 1947 - Claire's own original time period.
This post focuses on the long full length blue-grey satin skirt that Claire wears as a topper for her outfit. Her skirt features long sleeves, button front, shawl collar lapels, fitted waist and a wide peplum hem.
The rest of her costume includes a long sleeve ivory jacket topper, yellow gemstone teardrop earrings, ivory gloves, drawstring pouch handbag, straw raffia hat and black leather pump style shoes.
The skirts shown below in a range of grays and blues also feature many of the same details as Claire's such as a floor length 'maxi' style that is full enough for a wide petticoat, slip, pannier or bustle.
