Morrocco Method Review -
Below is a review of my experience with the Morrocco Method products so far:
(In a previous blog post I mentioned that I'm 54 and that I still have my natural hair color - see photo at left. I feel that natural methods - and in this case, natural hair care - can help to sustain one's health and looks.)
As someone who prefers to use natural products, I'm always looking for the most natural chemical-free formulations that I can find.
I was so delighted when I discovered the Morrocco Method 'no-poo' hair care products!
The description on the MM website and videos sounded really wonderful, and the ingredients listed were all completely natural.
As a person who is sometimes sensitive to fragrances, I was initially concerned about the scent from any essential oils in the products.
But this has been no problem at all - in fact far from it! The oils used are all naturally derived and of superbly high quality.
The aroma from the MM product line has been a highly beneficial and enjoyable part of the experience.
My first order with Morrocco Method was the Five Shampoo Sample Pak. The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the wonderful scent.
It was so perfect and heavenly without being overpowering in any way. I wanted to just open all the bottles and set them all around so that my whole house could smell this way!
However, I'll settle for the bathroom being my 'spa retreat' for now - filled with the subtle, delicious scent of MM Shampoo.
The first one I tried was the Earth Essence. I had known even from the description on the website that I would probably like this one, as I used to very much like patchouli.
It was no different now, and it made my hair smell really nice. I was very anxious to see how my hair would look once it air-dried.
I was so amazed to see how soft, full, manageable, and truly 'clean' it felt. I have long but very fine hair that usually doesn't have very much volume.
My hair now looked like it did when I had a 'body wave' in the past (but without the harmful chemicals!) I was so pleased, to say the least.
I've now tried all 5 of the shampoos, and they're all wonderful. They definitely each seem to have a slightly different effect on the hair, which is very beneficial for both hair and scalp.
The most clarifying for me was the Pine Shale, which is the one I'd use when I wanted a therapeutic deep-cleansing and restoration.
There are times when the hair and scalp need clarifying and balancing, as well as times of conditioning and nourishing.
That's why it's nice that Morrocco Method offers a line of 5 different shampoos to rotate each time you cleanse your hair, or whenever you wish.
What I have liked the very best about the MM shampoos is that it leaves not only the hair but your whole head feeling so clean and refreshed.
The healing clays have a very subtle exfoliating action that helps you to gently 'scrub' your scalp. It also makes a nice soft cleansing scrub for the face and neck area as well.
Since trying the shampoos, I have now also tried several more of the products available from the Morrocco Method line.
The Floating Lotus conditioner helped to add a lot of moisture to the ends of my hair. The Euro Natural Oil made absolutely THE best moisturizer ever for my face.
And, I used the Diamond Crystal Mist as a gentle spray deodorant, which worked just perfectly. The Scalp Massager was a wonderful experience as well.
You can use it to massage the surface of the scalp, or hold it down a little more firmly to the head and move the entire scalp around to increase movement and circulation.
I just love it, as well as the larger size and the fact that it can bend and conform to the shape of any area of your head.
I have even been following the lunar haircare tips as well. I agree wholeheartedly with the philosophy of taking back your own hair care, in addition to your own healthcare in general.
See their Lunar Hair Chart, based on similar principles as the Farmer's Almanac, to help you lengthen, thicken, strengthen and beautify your hair.
"With Morrocco Method's product line, hair cutting techniques, and online video tutorials, I feel that I truly can take back my own hair care completely, easily - and naturally!”
Update: I have also now tried out the Sapphire Volumizer Mist....Really gave lots of body. Once it dried, I had 'va-voom' ready to go out hair!
