BRIANNA'S PINK GOWN I

In Season 4, Episode 13 of 'Outlander' Brianna Randall is seen in a pink floral gown when she comes out of the house at River Run to present her new baby boy to her parents, Claire and Jamie Fraser.

Brianna's beautiful pastel dress features long bell trumpet 3/4 sleeves with white lace cuffs, fitted laced bodice, scoop neck with ruffle trim, and full floor-length skirts with small lighter colored 'ditsy' flower print inset and petticoat.

BRIANNA'S GOWN


In Season 4, Episode 11 of 'Outlander' we see Brianna Fraser Randall, daughter of Claire and Jamie Fraser, wearing a beautiful dark beige floral jacquard gown as she descends the long staircase at the River Run home of their Aunt Jacosta.

Her dress features satin brocade with white lace ruffled cuffs at the long 3/4 sleeves and fitted bodice with full floor length skirts. The gown is trimmed with braided cord and tonal inset for the stomacher and at the front split skirt.


With her gown, Brianna also wears a tan sheer silk organza ribbon choker collar necklace and a three-strand ivory pearl bracelet made from the strand of  baroque Scotch wedding pearls from her mother Claire.

In addition to the pearls, Brianna also has on the silver bangle cuff bracelet that her fiance Roger MacKenzie had given to her. (Please see our post HERE for more on Brianna's silver cuff bracelet.)


Shown below are several Colonial style period gowns similar to Brianna's in champagne, beige, light sage green, khaki tan, and mocha brown. Also shown is the matching tan chiffon choker collar ribbon necklace.

Also below is a selection of 3-strand white freshwater cultured pearl bracelets as well as silver bangle cuffs with French writing inscription similar to the one that Brianna wears.


The silver bracelets shown are inscribed as follows: La Vie Est Belle (Life is Beautiful) and Elle Est Forte (She is Strong) and Je t'Aime (I Love You) with heart motif.

Brianna also wears a pair of two-tiered silver and gold rosette drop dangle round 'halo' earrings in a yellow citrine topaz gemstone surrounded with smaller white crystals.

CLAIRE'S RIVER RUN DRESS II

In Season 4 Episode 2 of 'Outlander' Claire Fraser wears a red dress with ruffled ivory white lace trim at the collar and cuffs of the long 3/4 length bell sleeves.

Claire is seen wearing this gown in an 'early Colonial' style on the porch at the plantation house of Jamie's Aunt Jacosta while at her River Run home.


Below are shown several gowns in a similar color and '18th Century' period style with laced fitted bodice and flared full floor length skirts. Some also feature lace trim at the sleeves, neck and bodice. 

Another way to acheive this style of dress is with a gown or overdress that can be used with a fitted blouse that has a ruffled neckline and cuffs. Skirts can also be made fuller with the addition of a petticoat slip or pannier bustle.

APOTHECARY EPHEMERA

Featured in this post is more 'Apothecary Ephemera' and other 'stuff' to outfit a vintage French Apothicaire Shoppe like the one seen in Season 2 of 'Outlander'.

This post focuses on the gold and wrought iron sconces seen on the wall of the French  Apothecary Shoppe of Master Raymond in Season 2 of 'Outlander'.

The design of these wall sconces range from scrolled black wrought iron and oiled burnished bronze as well as gold sunburst or scallop shell motif


These are seen on the back wall as you enter, and there are also flat back sconces on some of the side walls of the shop.  Also seen are rustic candlesticks, pillar candle holders, and candelabras on shelves and countertops there.

The warm colored low lighting of the various light sources add even more mystery and ambience to Maitre Raymond's intriguing Apothecary Shop set in 18th century Paris, France.

 APOTHECARY HERBS

This post focuses on the drying herbs seen hanging from the ceiling in the French  Apothecary Shoppe of Master Raymond seen in Season 2 of 'Outlander'.

In his shop we also see items such as racks, scales, mortar and pestle, and other essentials necessary for the weighing, measuring, packaging and sale of herbal preparations.


Shown below is a collection of vintage period antique balance scales for the weighing of smaller lightweight items such as dried herbs and spices.

Some are calibrated working scales and others are just for decor. One is even a decorative planter. There is also a distressed vintage historical French replica scale depicted.


Also shown is a book on drying herbs as well as a steel ceiling herb hanging rack. A granite mortar and pestle is also shown used in the preparation of herbal concoctions and to grind and prepare dried herbs.

To package dried herbs, there is also a selection of small kraft paper bags and a couple of 'old-fashioned' cast iron Telkin twine and scissors sets with stand and pair of shears.

This post features just a few really fun and interesting items recently run across with an authentic retro vintage French apothecary 'vibe' inspired by Master Raymond's Apothecary in Season 2 of 'Outlander'.

First items shown are a miniature dollhouse apothecary furniture set and a light-up collector ceramic Village Apothecary Shoppe.


Really love the mini Apothecary Shoppe, but also love the next unique (regular size) item - a genuine Leech Pot. A Leeches Jar is the perfect 'gift' for the medical or pharmaceutical professional.

This Medical Leeches Jar pharmacy decor staple is hand-painted in Deruta, Italy, and features a beautiful floral design in shades of black and gray So perfect! - Doctor, Pharmacist, Druggist...


Shown next (& above) is an inexpensive picture book on French Apothecary Jars "from the 16th to the 19th century" (including the 18th century era of Maitre Raymond's shop.)

Love this - a Green L'Apothicaire Shower Curtain with intriguing depiction of drying herbs and potion bottles. Next is a scented Candle 'in a Can' for the perfect ambience labeled:
