"O faulty human that i am; but couldst love me still..."
Good morning, I'm studying Jeremiah now ... and I was reading Chapter 2 this morning and this verse just amazed me ... God knew our sinful flesh would turn to His wonderful creation around us and create our own "gods" and "religion" : 27 Saying to a stock, You are my father; and to a stone, You have brought me forth: for they have turned their back to me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. 28 But where are your gods that you have made you? let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble: for according to the number of your cities are your gods Evolution is nothing new that Darwin came up with ... it is the same lie that Satan has been permeated through time ... and convincing man to turn his back on God and create his own false gods to believe in. The ancient pagan religions were making their gods, often in the image of animal 'beasts', out of wood and stone and worshiping them. Now, Evolution has create the religion that those "stocks" and "stones" are merely our ancient ancestors millions of years ago and defined a world without our Heavenly Father. G. L. Evolution is as a form of Idolatry: Psalm 135:15-18 (KJV): "The idoles of the heathen are silver and gold: the worke of mens hands. They have mouths, but they speake not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have eares, but they heare not: neither is there any breath in their mouthes. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them." Webster's 1828 Dictionary: Stock - A post: "Something fixed, solid and senseless. 'When all our fathers worshipped stocks and stones.' A stem, a staff, a stick, a block. This word coincides with stake, stick, stack; that which is set or fixed." "What a great study - God's word is so amazing!" When I'm afraid (which is a lot of times!) I always repeat this verse to myself:
"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee." Psalm 56: 3. It helps to remind me not to be afraid, and to put my trust back on God. Life is scary. HAPPY EASTER!! : ) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 He is risen! Matthew 28:6 REAL SATYRS Bizarre Skeletons "Unearthed in Russian Mound, Satyr and Giant Horse." THE REAL NARNIA HAS BEEN FOUND! COMPLETE WITH SATYRS, FAUNS, GIANTS, AND A SACRED HORSE (Bree!) (For his Narnia Chronicles, C.S.Lewis borrows many characters from Greek and Roman mythology.) Perhaps these characters aren't so mythological after all, and are a part of our distant past. The Holy Bible even mentions a creature called a Satyr, along with other more well-known beasts:
Strange Satyr Skeleton Un- earthed in Russia (CalmCrash) My Own POV: What amazes me is that evolutionists aren't jumping all over this recent discovery in Russia. You'd think they would love it, and promote it as some type of 'missing link'. IF evolution were true (which it is not), there should be lots of these 'transitional' types. However, even evolutionists admit that no transitional fossils have 'yet' been found. These bones aren't FOSSILS either, and probably aren't from the right time frame for their theory. The bones wouldn't date from 'millions' of years ago so don't fit their 'model'.?! See the Narnia Chronicles featuring Satyrs, Fauns, Giants, Centaurs, and Noble Talking Horses: Much damage is done in ignoring our loved ones and our parental duties while pursuing idle (idol!) pleasure and distraction. We are to provide more than just material and monetary goods for our families. We must also be sure to provide our family members with LOVE and ATTENTION. And, most of all, we need to be providing good Godly wisdom and instruction - by both word as well as example. So...please, get off the phone!! : ) HE WON'T GET OFF THE 'PHONE! The dinner, succulent, sits waiting, A rib roast, tender at the bone, But no one yet is celebrating, In fact their nerves are slowly grating, Because he won't get off the 'phone! The grass beneath the hammock pushes, The yard is badly over-grown With debris and disheveled bushes, As tow'ring as the Hindu Kush is Because he won't get off the 'phone! The child, the pup are sore neglected, The wife feels she exists alone, Their countenances so dejected, From Father they are dis-connected, Because he won't get off the 'phone! Outside a silvery moon is shining, Where late the golden sun has shone, But inside there is only pining, In circumstances too confining, Because he won't get off the 'phone! ***** 1 Timothy 5:8 "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." Psalm 106:36 "And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them." ~ - Historic Poem That's Even More True Today - ~ Remembrance
(Author Unknown) I hopped up on your bed last night, I came to have a peep, I could see that you were crying, that you found it hard to sleep. I purred and touched you softly as you brushed away a tear, “It’s me, I haven’t left you, I’m well, I’m fine, I’m here.” I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, you were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me. I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care, I want to re-assure you that I’m not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key, I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said “It’s me.” You looked so very tired as you sank into your chair, I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there. It’s possible for me to be so near you everyday, to say to you with certainty, “I never went away.” You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew… in the stillness of that evening I was very close to you. And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I’ll run across to greet you and we’ll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there’s so much for you to see, please be happy, live your journey out… then come home to be with me. ~ St. Patrick's Day is much more than just 'green beer' & parades. Buried beneath the Shamrocks and Leprechauns - Lies the true story of a man determined to save the people who made him a slave. Over sixteen hundred years ago, a young teenage boy living in 4th c. Roman Britain named Patrick was kidnapped by Celtic raiders. He was forced to live as a slave in Ireland. After several years of hardship, this young slave escaped and eventually made his way back home. *** It was at this point that God called Patrick to return to the spiritually dark land where he was once a slave, in order to take the gospel of Christ to the people of Ireland. The preaching of Patrick was used by Almighty God to transform many of the Irish people from idol worshiping pagans into servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. God empowered him to overcome powerful Druid occult leaders, bloodthirsty tribal chieftains, and a host of other dangers to help set the people of Ireland free through the message of Salvation. *** Seldom in church history has any missionary been blessed with a more fruitful ministry. This is a true story of the heroic martyr who loved Jesus more than his own life. The work and legacy of Saint Patrick has long been obscured by myths and legends. *** For this reason, most Christians living today know little of the actual exploits of this fascinating hero from Church history. St. Patrick's 'ridding Ireland of snakes and serpents' is one of the many myths and legends: But this is a story representing that St. Patrick did indeed help to rid Ireland of the 'Serpent of old' (the devil).
The Life and Legacy of Saint Patrick by Michael J. McHugh (Author) The story of how God used this simple but courageous man to turn the hearts of many Irish people from pagan darkness to living faith, will inspire Christians in the twenty-first century to be faithful to the Great Commission. The Great Commission of Christ: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Matthew 28:19) *** See More About St. Patrick: HERE Pharmakeia and Sorcery We've all seen those t.v. commercials for the latest prescription drug benefits. Then, in smaller print, or softer voice-over, we are also told about the possible side-effects. As you listen to these 'side-effects', you realize that most of them are much worse than the ailment that the drug is said to help. It made me think of the passage in Luke 11 where it speaks of a man who has been cleansed of an 'unclean spirit', but in doing so is then revisited by seven more spirits worse than the first. This is exactly what happens with most of the prescription drugs now being given to people. While some medications can be necessary for an acute illness, the majority cause far more harm than good - And you are visited with several more maladies 'worse than the first'!
