CLAIRE'S RUBY NECKLACE

In Season 4 of 'Outlander' Jamie and Claire plan to attend a fancy dinner where they hope to find a buyer for their ruby gemstone.

Jamie has had the ruby set in a necklace for Claire so as to attract the attention of a wealthy Baron while they dine.


Their plan works and the sale of the ruby earns them more than enough for passage back to Scotland, but once again fate intervenes and the Fraser's stay instead to accept an offer of land in America.

CLAIRE'S WEDDING RING II

In Season 4 of 'Outlander', James Fraser presents his wife Claire with a new wedding ring that is designed with a Celtic knot motif of intertwining leaves and Scottish thistle flowers

In this episode, Blood of My Blood, we learn why Jamie had given Murtagh one of his mother’s solid silver candlesticks in the previous episode: He'd asked him to fashion a new wedding ring for Claire, ever his 'Sassenach'.


The beautiful shiny new ring that he presents to Claire is engraved with a saying on the inside of the band. This special inscription reads 'Da mi basia mille' which translates to 'Give me a thousand kisses'.

This special poem by Catullus is one that holds special meaning to Jamie and Claire. The words are a reminder that they will always love each other more than anything, no matter what else is happening in their lives.

CLAIRE'S BROWN LEATHER BELT

The character of Claire Randall Fraser from 'Outlander' wears a white shift dress that she styles with a brown leather croc 'skinny' belt in Season 1, Episode 1: Sassenach.


After passing through the stones and falling down the hill just outside of Craigh Na Dun, Claire loses this belt, as well as her watch and the little pearl button that closes the keyhole notch at the top of her 1940's style dress.

This causes her dress to look more like an unstructured 'shift' gown, or perhaps a 'night-shift'.  Now in Scotland of the 1700's, Claire's 'new' shift dress won't seem as out-of-place for the time as it might have otherwise.


The belts below capture the same look and style of the brown leather 'skinny' belt that Claire had worn on that fateful day to the stones at Craigh Na Dun on her trip to Scotland.

CLAIRE'S BUCKLE OXFORDS


In the very first episode of Season 1 of 'Outlander', Claire Randall (Fraser) returns to a special place that she and her first husband Frank had visited just the night before.


On the day that Claire re-visits this place - the standing stones of Craigh Na Dun - to look for the forget-me-not flowers that she had seen, she is wearing a pair of brown leather buckled monk strap oxford shoes.

This timeless style of shoe turns out to be a good choice -- especially as she ends up in a completely 'different' time altogether. They also serve to keep her feet well-protected while running through the muddy turf of 1700's Scotland.


These practical and stylish shoes look just as good in today's time as they did in the 1940's - or even the 1740's! They can be dressed up or down and look just as great with pants or - as Claire demonstrates - with a nice white shift dress.

CLAIRE'S SHIFT II

Now in Scotland of the 1700's, Claire's shift dress won't seem as out-of-place as her 1940's style keyhole-button dress and brown 'skinny' belt might have. Her watch also seems to be missing after the fall - definitely even more out of place for the time!

CLAIRE'S WEDDING RING

On the day of their wedding, James Fraser gives Claire a ring that he had crafted for her from the key to his ancestral home, Lallybroch.


Jamie had treasured this key as a reminder of his childhood home, and it had been tucked away for safekeeping in his sporran. Its special meaning makes it highly worthy of now giving to the woman he loves.


The rings shown below are crafted of fine Sterling Silver or high quality Stainless Steel to last a lifetime. These stunning pieces are a replica of the wedding ring that Jamie gave Claire, as seen in Season One of 'Outlander'.

CLAIRE'S SHIFT 1

At the start of Season 1 in the very First episode of Outlander, Claire wears a white shift dress with a notched keyhole button V-neckline.

This is the dress she is wearing when she passes through the stones at Craigh Na Dun while looking for the forget-me-not flowers she had seen there the day before.

This V-neck dress conveniently turns into more of a 'shift' look when she loses her brown belt when running down the hill from the 'redcoats' who have been chasing the highlanders that she later meets during this 'misadventure'.


Thankfully she's wearing a good pair of leather shoes that stay on her feet well during her run through the woods and brambles on the muddy turf. The longer 3/4 length sleeves of her shift help to keep her somewhat warm, but Claire has unfortunately left her shawl wrap at the stones.

Not to worry though as Jamie will soon generously share his 'plaid' with her during the long ride back to Castle Leoch on horseback. (I'm sure his presence seated behind her also helps to keep her pretty warm too.)


The dresses below are very reminiscent of the one Claire wears to Craigh Na Dun in Episode 1, 'Sassenach'. The first one pictured is almost an exact replica with keyhole buttoned collar, long sleeves, and included 'skinny' belt.

The second dress pictured has a cloth self-tie sash belt that can be removed to accommodate a different belt, as can all of the dresses depicted here. (The next 2 pictured also have a similar retro silhouette & notched collar.)

CLAIRE'S SCOTLAND SHOES


When Claire Randall (Fraser) first arrives in Scotland, Mrs. Fitz outfits her with a pair of shoes to go with her new outfit.

These shoes are like a 'shootie' style bootie, or perhaps a covered pump, that comes just below the ankle with a low heel and lace-up front. Claire first wears these shoes in Season 1, Episode 2 of 'Outlander': Castle Leoch.


Below are several shoes with a similar silhouette and in nice neutral earthy colors such as olive, grey, beige and brown tones ...Shades perfect for the upcoming Fall season.

CLAIRE'S WEDDING DRESS VI

In this scene from Season 1 of 'Outlander' Claire wears a beautiful gown of silver grey and ivory with rich embroidery and fabrics such as tulle, organza, crinoline and taffeta.


We've done several posts on Claire's gorgeous iconic Wedding Dress - attention it very richly deserves.We've also been able to find many beautiful gowns that are very similar.

In this post, however, we feature a very authentic vintage replica gown of this period in rich silver-grey taffeta with a lace-up corset back, puffed sleeves, and ivory lace insets at the bodice and wide full-length skirt.


Also featured is another full-length gown, also in silver grey, with embroidered lace embellishments, mesh net overlay, long sheer sleeves, floral appliqués, and satin bow sash at the waist.

The last dress shown is done in a silver dove gray color with textural all-over rosette soutàche embroidery, short sleeves, subtle sequin detail, long A-line skirt & V-neck at the back.

CLAIRE'S WEDDING DRESS V


Claire wears a very elaborate and formal wedding gown in The Wedding episode of Season 1 of 'Outlander'.

The dress is a floor length gown with wide full skirts, organza sleeves and lavishly embroidered bodice.

Below are a few selections if you would prefer a slightly more casual midi or tea-length style gown. This style is very appropriate for garden parties and other outdoor events.
