It's like he knows exactly what to do!
Even his eyes are looking straight into the camera.
Maybe he's a 'horse model'! : )
HAVE A VERY HAPPY DAY!! ^_^
This horse is totally smiling for the camera... It's like he knows exactly what to do! Even his eyes are looking straight into the camera. Maybe he's a 'horse model'! : ) HAVE A VERY HAPPY DAY!! ^_^ While reading up on Byzantine Architecture, I stumbled on this statement: "The most distinctive feature was the domed roof... and To allow a dome to rest above a square base, either of two devices was used: The squinch (an arch in each of the corners of a square base that transforms it into an octagon) or the pendentive." (As shown here.) In masonry the pendentives receive the weight of the dome, concentrating it at the four corners where it can be received by the piers beneath. Flat Earth Model - The Flat Earth Model has clear precedent in the architectural pendentive. It supports exactly what the Flat Earth model, as well as the Bible itself, states is the structure of the Earth: A circular dome, or 'firmament' resting on a flat 'table' with four corners and pillars beneath, as seen in the picture above. This illustrates the flat surface of the earth on which rests the circular dome. This in turn rests on the four pillars below the surface - 'The pillars of the earth' (1 Samuel 2:8) AND the 'pillars of heaven' (Job 26:11), as they hold up the entire structure. Pillars of the Earth - The pendentive model in Byzantine architecture is dependent upon the use of these piers, or pillars, below the structure: "It is a constructive device permitting the placing of a circular dome over a square room (or an elliptical dome over a rectangular room)." A pier, in architecture, is an upright support for a structure or superstructure: A solid support designed to sustain vertical pressure, in particular. Pillars of Heaven - These pillars,or piers, are mentioned in the Bible as an essential part of the earth's structure as well: "...For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them. (1 Samuel 2:8) "The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof." (Job 26:11) Dome, Circle & Four Corners - The Bible also speaks of the 'Four Corners of the Earth' as well as the 'Circle of the Earth' - The 'dome' - or firmament of 'heaven'. The Bible further speaks of God as the original architect and 'maker': "Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is..." (Psalm 146:6) "He hath compassed the waters with bounds..." (Job 26:10) God, the True Architect - The Lord God is the true 'architect' of this world, complete with 'compass' to circumscribe the waters with bounds! In fact there are many Bible verses that speak of the Lord being the ultimate and original 'architectural genius' of the heaven and earth. Here are just a few: "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:3) "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." (Hebrews 11:10) The Earth is His Footstool - "Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made." (Isaiah 66:1-2)
In doing research into the Flat Earth Theory, I found this book title to be very interesting.
The book not only has the title The World is Flat, but also features a picture of a 'Flat Earth' coin on the cover. In this book the author, Thomas Friedman, doesn't necessarily speak of the world being geographically flat, but that the earth has become 'flat' due to 'globalization'... And that technological advancements have leveled the playing field in terms of commerce—that location is less and less important. In his newer book, Hot, Flat and Crowded, this leveling, or 'flattening' of the world has been caused by the Internet, which brought 3 billion new consumers onto the world stage. With all that in mind, Friedman sets out the clean-technology breakthroughs we, and the world, will need to flourish on this 'flat' world stage. It seems that the world is just flat - in so many ways!
In looking at Flat Earth references out there, I've been seeing them a lot in many different brands and products.
Now I've also started to notice that many songs, poems and even books make reference to the flat earth. The title of this book is "The Earth Hums in B Flat" by Mari Strachan - Be Flat!? Yes, the Earth is Flat! While this book title makes a somewhat more subtle reference, the image also supports the idea of the earth's shape. In the cover image, there is a young girl standing upright on the 'flat' ground, holding what looks like the Moon. All around her are 'stars' and other luminaries above her and on the 'horizon', suggesting that they are nearby to her. This book is a fictional novel, and not about the Flat Earth - But it is still interesting that it makes reference to it even so. These references are out there - and they're telling us something about the Earth, but just not outright - not yet.
Yet another Flat Earth brand is FLAT EARTH CLAY WORKS.
This company out of Wichita, Kansas makes art pottery and ceramics. It does makes sense that and Earthenware company would include the word Earth in their name. But also the word Flat? And especially the words Flat Earth together?! Below is a picture of one of their pieces with their name, 'Flat Earth' depicted on the bottom: Here's an example of another business that uses the idea of the 'Flat Earth' in their name, as well as in their logo. Of course, if you were going to go sailing, you would need to navigate by the 'real' map - the flat earth map! I definitely see in this Australian company's logo a possible depiction of the Flat Earth: There are the 'Four Corners' of the Earth, and also an arrow that seems to poke up through the center to point North. In the true Flat Earth model, the 'North Pole' is in the center of the map, with the other continents splayed around it. This Bible speaks of these 'four corners of the earth' both in Isaiah, and in Revelation where it also speaks of the 'four winds'. Isaiah 11:12 "And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." Revelation 7:1 "And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree." Below is the information from their website: About The Company - Flat Earth Sails have their origins from a history of Australian sea kayaks covering distances in Tasmania, Bass Strait and Victoria. These early sea kayakers used sails, over the last 14 years flat earth sails have been modifying and improving into what we have to offer today. I’m primarily a sea kayaker first and a sail maker second.
Yet another Brand with the Flat Earth name: FLAT EARTH EYEWEAR.
I keep seeing lots of name brands using the idea of a Flat Earth: Somebody knows something! Below is the information from their website - These Eyeglasses from Flat Earth are made of durable richly styled hypoallergenic acetate and alloys that are stylish for men and women.
Edge of the World:
Standing together, at the edge of the world. Nowhere to go from where we are. Sharing a secret at the edge of the world. This time we may have come too far. "...From the life we’ve known, from simple things and peaceful days. Come too far, too far from old familiar ways Standing together, at the edge of the world No turning back from where we are. Searching for answers at the edge of the world. And though we’re standing on it, we never known how close we are." The lyrics remind me of how it is when you learn the truth of the Flat Earth - there is no going back. This beautiful and haunting song is from the 1983 movie 'WarGames' -- (Sung by Yvonne Elliman). You can listen to it HERE on YouTube.
The song below is by Scottish musician Paddy Milner.
The lyrics talk about realizing that the Earth is not round - - Once you 'rise above the clouds'...Truly amazing! "Its amazing what you do believe, Until you rise above your world." We are now able to 'fly above' on our own with private weather balloon and rocket launches, as seen in the photo above. Standing At The Edge Of The World (Paddy Milner and the Big Sounds) Standing at the edge of the world, Looking right over the edge. Always thought the world was round But I guess I've never seen for myself. Its amazing what we take granted, Till you're at the edge of your world. Flying up above the white clouds,... Flapping my arms like a bird. Always thought that you couldn't fly, But now I know it isn't true. Its amazing what you do believe, Until you rise above your world. Why, why do we always ask the same old questions? It only leads to the same old lies. Too many times do I eat from the hand that feeds me. Easy to forget the rest. Standing at the edge of the world, Looking right over the edge. A billion souls sailing through the black Free and easy, saying hello. Its amazing what we do forget, Till you're at the edge of your world. Flying up above the white clouds, Flapping my arms like a bird. Always thought that you couldn't fly, But now I know it isn't true. Its amazing what you do believe, Until you rise... _________________________ Isaiah 40:22 "It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth..." |
