(See our post HERE for Apothecary Vest I, and HERE for II).
In Season 2 of 'Outlander' Claire Fraser meets a very special character while in France, Master Raymond the Apothicaire. In Episode 2, Claire visits his Apothecary Shoppe in search of a sleep aid for her husband Jamie.
Maitre Raymond's Paris shop is full of many curiosities, and his vest is just as interesting and colorful being covered with various mysterious embroidered images peculiar to his trade.
The items shown below can be used to make a costume for Master Raymond's apothecary shop character. There are both long and short vests, coats, dusters, and sweaters. Some feature long sleeves, while others are sleeveless.
Some of the vests shown below also contain lots of colorful embroidery or prints reminiscent of Master Raymond's overcoat vest. Or, a plain solid long vest such as this tan linen vest can be sewn with embroidered patches of one's choosing.
Materials include cotton, denim canvas, genuine and faux suede, poly, and wool. Many are in a neutral color, ready for some colorful sew-on or iron-on applique patches, and a long sleeve linen shirt to wear underneath.
Some also contain mysterious esoteric symbols similar to Master Raymond's such as swirls, sun, stars, plants, leaves, seed pods, or even eyeballs and snake-like figures or exotic totems.
