In Season 1, Episode 1 of 'Outlander' Claire Randall (Fraser) visits the stones at Craigh Na Dun wearing a white shift dress and a grey plaid shawl wrap.
This visit marks Claire's first trip through the giant standing stones near Inverness after which she finds herself in 18th century Scotland.
When Claire arrives on the 'other side', she feels disoriented and gets up to look around. She ends up leaving her shawl on the ground and subsequently falling down the hill outside of the stones where she also loses her brown belt and gold jeweled watch.
In the series, it's claimed that a gem is needed to be able to pass through the stones. Claire attributes the jewels in the watch that her uncle had given her as a gift to the reason that she was most likely able to pass through her first time.
Although Claire has lost her lovely warm gray checked fringed shawl wrap, she will fortunately soon be offered the warmth of Jamie Fraser's 'plaid tartan' blanket on their upcoming journey to Castle Leoch.
