Big Bureaucracy at it's Best: Too Big For It's Britches?
(From a Blurb in a Blog about Buying with Bitcoin!!)
A local business in Ohio wanted to promote itself as part of a Bitcoin-friendly business district.
Brian Benchek of the BottleHouse Brewing Co. wasn't sure he would be allowed to accept bitcoins for the beer made by his brew pub.
Bitcoin can be converted immediately to cash by BitPay. But, Ohio bureaucrats said 'Back off'!
Their bitcoin buzz-kill is despite buying beer by Bitcoin being accepted in some states, by-the-by.
For instance, Beverage Control in California accepts bitcoin for booze and other buying.
But for now, they're still waiting to see if Bitcoins can be used to buy beer and other booze in Ohio.
UPDATE! - Reason For Ban:
'Bureaucrats believe the banning of Bitcoin for the buying of booze will bolster tax revenue from basic dollar barter for beer and other beverages, thereby increasing their bottom line.' : )
