In the opening scene of Season 1, Episode 1 of 'Outlander', we see Claire Randall (Fraser) admiring a blue vase in a shop window.
She doesn't buy the vase, but she later muses if her life may have been any different had she done so and 'made a home' for it.
Claire states that she had not even owned a vase having been accustomed to moving around a lot during her life, first as a child with her archaeologist uncle and then as a combat nurse during World War II.
As it turns out, she would end up not needing such a simple household item for her life in the 1940's as she will soon be swept away to 18th century Scotland on her visit to the standing stones at Craigh Na Dun to gather 'forget-me-not' flowers.
Below are a selection of similar blue vases to enjoy, and even a couple bouquets of silk faux forget-me-not flowers to put in them as a reminder of this poignant moment.
