In Season 1, Episode 2 of 'Outlander' Claire is dressed in her first 18th century Scottish frock by Mrs. Fitz after her arrival at Castle Leoch.
This outfit includes an off-white shift dress beneath a fitted laced bodice and 'MacKenzie' tartan wool plaid skirt with bum pad bustle.
The full floor-length dresses, gowns and maxi skirts shown below are all in grey and brown plaids similar to the MacKenzie, Fraser, and Outlander tartans.
Materials include wool, wool blends, poly and poly satin lined. Lace-up gilet corset vests to coordinate with the skirts are also shown, as well as a long sleeve shift 'underdress'.
A slip petticoat and/or bum pad bustle can be used to make the skirts and dresses even fuller if desired. The gray shoes that Claire is wearing with this gown costume are also represented below.
