A few months back I noticed that our older dog's teeth had started to become yellow, especially at the gum line.
There was even some heavy looking tartar buildup on a few of the back molar teeth.
I was very fearful of having to take him to the 'Vet' where he would be put under by gas or injection for a cleaning.
It was also very expensive, but it was more the procedure our dog would have to go through that made me apprehensive.
So, I put it off for a while to do some research on other available options.
First, I purchased a 'finger' brush made for dogs as a type of toothbrush, but he didn't care for that at all.
Then we read about trying a 'raw' meat bone such as beef, but while the dog really loved it, even a little upset his digestion.
The next suggestion we received was to try a rawhide chew. He liked this too, but caused stomach upset and constipation.
So, did some more 'digging' and found a product made by C.E.T. called Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews for Dogs.
These really work, and both of our dogs love them as a once-a-day snack (unlike the 'hateful' teeth-brushing!).
These come in different sizes for all types of dogs. We have so far only tried the Petite Chews as our dogs are both small.
Another natural brand that we've tried is the Breath-Less Fizzy Plaque-Zapper that you just add to the dog's water.
It doesn't have any odor, color or taste - and the 'Pets Do All the Work' while just drinking their daily water!
Also available is the Breath-Less Brushless Toothpaste chew which is a tasty chewable treat with a 'toothpaste' center.
I am SO glad and relieved to have found some things that work for our dogs, and that don't require a visit to the veterinarian.
I hope these suggestions will help other dog owners too, who don't wish for their pet to undergo a dangerous treatment.
THESE PRODUCTS WORK - AND THE PET DOES THE WORK WHILE ENJOYING A TASTY TREAT!! : )
