A Diet Plan, just like any food, is a very personal and individual subject. For such a plan to work, it should also be enjoyable.
It has been said, 'Variety is the Spice of Life'. This is even more true with weight-loss and a diet plan menu.
With this in mind, consider the variety offered in the Medifast Diet. There are shakes, bars, soups, pretzels, etc. Sounds good, BUT...
While Medifast is often recommended by Doctors, Dieticians, and other professionals, this can cause consumers to have blind faith in their products.
HOWEVER - Upon looking at the nutrition label of most of these products, there are many questionable ingredients.
All of the Medifast products that I researched had one or more of the following ingredients:
Sugars: Brown Sugar; Sugar; Sucralose; Acesulfame; Corn Syrup; Dextrose; Fructose; Etc.
Preservatives: disodium phosphate; sulfiting agents; potassium sorbate; sodium benzoate; tetrasodium pyrophosphate.
Other: Citric Acid; natural and Artificial flavors; Casein
AND - Chicken Fat! (This was not only in the Chicken Soup, but also in the Cream of Broccoli Soup!!)
I personally do not think these products are fit for anyone to eat, but especially for someone who is looking to lose weight and get healthier.
If you ingest the preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and other ingredients found in Medifast, it will ultimately lead to more weight gain and poorer health.
The body doesn't recognize Sucralose, Acesulfame, Preservatives, etc. as food, and will store them in fat cells to isolate them from vital organs.
This will defeat your efforts at weight-loss in the end, and only cause frustration with your diet.
Please consider THESE ALTERNATIVES instead. They are all available on the regular market, and do not require that you sign-up for a 'Plan'.
