...WITH THE PERFECT ADAPTABLE OUTFIT!
This is especially important when you're not sure of the 'dress code' or the theme of the event you are attending.
The Jumpsuit to the left is a great example. The cotton/rayon blend gives it a high- quality dressy look while also being cool and casual.
The cloth self-tie belt can be removed and can either be left as-is or another belt can be added. This outfit can be dressed either up or down depending on the accessories used such as shoes, jewelry, handbag, belts, etc.
You'll never have to worry again if your clothing has these characteristics:
Versatile Style - Wear something that can change look and personality with just the addition or subtraction of the right accessories. That way when you arrive somewhere that you feel either over-dressed or under-dressed, you can add or subtract items to make your outfit more appropriate.
Weather Adaptable - A good example would be to wear something light and cool to a warm weather event, but that can also look nice with the addition of a cardigan, etc. as the day gets cooler or in an air-conditioned interior.
Neutral Color - Beige, Black, Navy, Cream, Tan, Brown, etc. No loud or bold colors. You don't want to make a 'statement', especially if you're making the wrong one.
Subtle Print - Subdued print in stripes, plaid, Swiss dot, mini polka dots, or floral.
Tailored Classic Style - No over the top styles or cuts such as ultra-wide pant legs, overly tight clothing, low-cut tops, etc. Also, no mini-skirts. Opt for a flowing below-knee dress instead.
One-Piece - A one piece outfit such as a jumpsuit or romper ensures that you remain looking put-together. It also enables you to partake of activities such as walking, bending over, etc.
Modesty - We all want to look attractive, but you don't want to attract TOO much attention. Try not to wear anything that stands out overly much or that draws undue attention to yourself. This way. if you are not exactly in the right type of outfit for the occasion, you at least won't stand out in the crowd either and stick out like a 'sore thumb'.
No Gaudy Logos - It can look pretty tacky to wear clothing or other items with a Logo, and especially if it is a large or repeated pattern. This also greatly limits the versatility of an outfit.
Be Prepared - Bring a nice tote bag along that is large enough to contain a change of accessories when needed.
