It is said to help in the cure and prevention of many illnesses, including cancer.
Also avoiding sugar (sadly) & GMOs, pesticide, etc. will help with prevention. (Try a cleanse or enema for a good detox!)

As for more on the Apricot Kernels, I've had a little nausea taking them sometimes. Just start with a few at a time.
You can also buy organic apricots and eat the fruit as well as the kernel inside the seed (fresher & won't need as many).
Just open the apricot (or peach) seed with a nutcracker. Eating the fruit with the kernel helps prevent the nauseated feeling.
Another proof that 'whole foods' are best. God made them to be eaten as an entire 'package'.
If you have a high-powered blender such as a Vitamix, it's easy to make a smoothie that includes the seed or kernel.
Bitter almonds are another seed nut that has the amygdalin as well as apple, peach, and grape seeds.
Just blend grape or apple including seeds with other fruit such as banana, orange and/or pineapple.
I often make 'ORBAPPI' Juice (Orange, Banana, Apple, Pineapple) and include the Apple Seeds.
With this smoothie, you get lots of Fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium, Enzymes (Bromelain), Amygdalin, and much more.
I've been having good results lately by also including the Daily Multi Detox from RenewLife.
They have a good fiber bar, too, that's guaranteed for a very 'happy morning'. : )
These both help to clear a lot of 'toxins' out of your system. A good fiber supplement can also help.
As one health speaker puts it, "Most 'dis-ease' is a result of a deficiency and/or toxicity."
So, getting the most toxins out, and letting the least toxins in, is more than half the battle.
With deficiency, a healthy diet is essential, as well as a good natural multi-vitamin.

Amygdalin (vitamin B17) is contained in many hundreds of foods, but ones that are particularly rich in amygdalin have disappeared to a large extent from our Western diet. Apart from apricot kernels, examples of other amygdalin rich foods are bitter almonds (amygdalin tastes bitter - sweet almonds do not contain it, and apricot kernels that are not bitter do not contain it).
