1974 APPLE SOLID FRAGRANCE PIN - ADORABLE 1974 AVON PLASTIC WORM IN APPLE SOLID PERFUME FRAGRANCE COLLECTOR'S PIN! COVER FLIPS OPEN TO REVEAL A PAN FOR SOLID PERFUME - I'M GUESSING THAT IT USED TO BE 'GREEN APPLE' SCENT! Avon Small World Solid Perfume Pins from the 1970's. 3-in-1 fun: A pin, a doll, and perfume! An adorable 'Hawaiian' version of the Small World pins. The face flips open to reveal a pan of solid perfume. Keep kids safe! Below are lyrics to a song from a 1970's commercial campaign to bring awareness to home poisons. Avoid accidental poisoning in the home by labeling them clearly and keeping them locked up. Better yet, try to minimize or eliminate poisons in the home by using natural, non-toxic products. ***** Mr. Yuk Song Lyrics: Muwahahahahaha... Mr. Yuk is mean Mr. Yuk is green! Home is full of lots of things that children shouldn't touch. Home is full of bad things that can hurt you very much Now there's a man whose face is green that you ought to get to know He'll warn you when danger's coming fast or slow. Get to know his face In every single place When you see it you'll know quick Things marked yuk make you sick Sick sick sick Sick sick sick Mr. Yuk is mean Mr. Yuk is green Muwahahahahaha... Red Suede Ghillie Ties Ghillie Tie Oxford Pump circa 1970s by Mademoiselle. Fashion shoe in red / rust suede. Lace up dress heel shoes. ...So beautiful! SUEDE PLATFORM LACE-UP OXFORD I often wish that all the great shoe styles of the 70's were still around. Fortunately, there are many shoe fashions available that are very similar to this great 'retro' shoe. The 'color-block', lace-up ties, and chunky heel proportions of shoes from the 70's is about right. It's hard to find the exact thing, but really fun trying... Enjoy! For everything from a cold to constipation, Grandma counted on the enema bag to cure it all! A combination product such as the latex-free Faultless brand has adapters for Douche, Enema and Water Bottle. Used as a hot water bottle, it can be very comforting, especially with a soft towel wrapped around it. However, the use of an enema for cleansing can have a very positive effect on your health as well. Used for centuries, the home enema 'cure' is a viable and effective remedy for many ailments. Just fill with warm water - no need for additives such as a coffee, etc. to be effective. Enemas have been used for constipation, as well as breaking an illness or fever. An enema hydrates the colon, and helps to break up and release any hardened stool causing constipation. In the case of a fever, the body is able to eliminate bacteria and the burden of extra waste in the colon. Another option is a fountain-top enema bag: Fountain style bags are used strictly for enemas and have a nice open top for filling & cleaning. This type of bag can be used with continuously running water for use as a 'flow' enema. There's no need for products such as a Colema Board, unless you are dealing with someone who is very ill. The Colema Board allows someone to lie down for an enema, and for continual flow of water. A fountain top enema can also allow for continuous flow, as long as one is able to sit upright. As promised, here is a re-post from last time (about the dress) with detail on the belt and hat. In the 1970's, butterflies, leather and lace-up styles were 'in'. This belt has them all. With wide belts being back in fashion, it's easy to find many similar styles available today. As for the 'floppy' hat, anything in a natural fiber - such as straw - was popular in the 70's. Wide-brim straw hats are still very popular today, especially for wearing at the beach. Beautiful floral Maxi Dress from the 1970's. Ruffled puffy sleeves, high collar, and smocked stitching. So many great fashion elements going on here with the addition of the wide belt and floppy hat. I'm going to have to do another post just for the red straw hat and lace-up butterfly belt! Sweet, innocent look from the early 70's. With the return of the Maxi Dress to the fashion scene, it's available once again... Proof that good things don't last! Here is a picture of the original Maseur Sandal. They have been discontinued. A new company took over the production, but the quality wasn't the same. These were the best massage sandals ever. There are, however, a couple of decent alternatives that I have been able to find out there. These include Adidas Assage, and Old Friend Beachcomber Sandals. These are available at zappos.com, as well as other online shoe stores. Other Reflexology Sandals exist, but I have not tried any additional brands so far other than Maseur, Adidas and Old Friend. I will keep looking. And, it is good to know that there are still some quality alternatives to the original Maseur - but I still miss them! UPDATE: I have been wearing both the Adissage and the Old Friend Sandals for some time now, and truly like them. The Adissage is especially nice as it is well made and really holds up to wear - and it's a really great price! |
