The intentional themes in this series include the ‘mystery’ as to why the Ashenleigh line - and the Rose Window at Thornecrest Castle – are cursed (the answer to which unfolds throughout the 8-eBook series.)
There is also the main storyline theme of the journey from darkness to light throughout several generations from the late Middle Ages to the dawn of the Georgian Period in northern England.
I have also touched on items perhaps of interest to some such as healing methods, herbal lore, glassmaking, ancient myth, traditional foods of the time, descriptions of period clothing and fine jewelry as well as special companion dogs.
